There was an extensive basement (which seemed bigger than the first floor of the home itself.) On this lower level the decrepitness continued. Countless shelves held countless copies of the AJC magazine, PTA Journal and Heating and Air conditioning trade magazines. A large partially disassembled model train set occupied a large portion of the room but many of its parts were missing. A desk was filled with ancient paperwork, that included 40 year old bills, a few more current road maps, a diary over 50 years old and a deed dated 1912. Nearby was an old yellow stained refrigerator that appeared to have been once covered like some ancient mummy with layers of adhesive tape. The basement also contained some old exercise gear including a belt vibrator, some Xmas decorations and some furniture.
I bought the diary.
